By most accounts, this was the first werewolf movie ever filmed. It was released way back in 1913 and was only 18 minutes long. As I'm sure you'd expect, it was a silent film. It was directed by Henry MacRae. The players included Clarence Burton, Marie Walcamp, Phyllis Gordon, Lule Warrenton, Sherman Bainbridge, and William Clifford.

The plot centers around a Navajo woman who believes that her husband has left her. She becomes a witch and raises her daughter to hate all white men. The daughter gains the ability to transform into a wolf and seeks revenge against the people she's been taught to hate.

The werewolf itself was portrayed by a real wolf, not by an actor in makeup.
