The King, The Killer, The Man in Black, and Mister Blue Suede Shoes, gathered 'round the
piano in late 1956. The tapes were rolling at Sun Studios, and the quartet sang whatever came to mind. Some gospel music, since that was a common heritage (in fact, The Killer's roots were in
boogie-woogifying gospel standards - much to the dismay of the
flock, no doubt), plus some rock and roll and pop tunes.
