1980 PBS adaptation of Ursula K. LeGuin's novel of the same name.
In 2002, George Orr discovers he has the Everything Superpower... er, power of effective dreaming - what he dreams becomes reality. A megalomaniac psychiatrist takes George under his wing, forcing his dreams into world-changing channels for the ostensible betterment of mankind. This backfires repeatedly. There is a love interest.
