This is a history book
written by Thomas A. Bailey and David M. Kennedy. You will cringe at the sight of this book. We use it as one of three textbook
s in my AP U.S. History
class, and are currently in the middle of the book. One of my favorite lines from this book is in a chapter about the 13 colonies
, referring to crop expansion
. It reads:
"The farmer had only to tickle the soil with a hoe and it would laugh with harvest."
Besides this, they use a bunch of alliteration everywhere. And refer to well-known historical figures as pathetic. Such a subjective, biased textbook and yet so damn fun to read. I don't think a day has gone by where I don't smile and giggle as I flip each page. I still cringe though later on.
