Here in the States today marks the 20th anniversary of Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Well, not really. It started out as Take Our Daughters to Work Day but was expanded to include boys in 2003. The idea itself was originally proposed by one Gloria Steinem to promote women in the work force.

Depending on what you do for a living it might be interesting for your child. For me, who resides in a cube farm, it is not. After bringing my kid one year (I think she was about 10) I’ll never forget her reaction. She asked me if I had to sit in front of the computer in a small enclosed space all day long. When I replied in the affirmative this was her one word answer.

”Yikes!”

I never took her again.
