The deep emotional attachment to a band which leads you to become angry when someone suggests the possibility that they suck. Persists until it is gradually dissolved by increasing levels of maturity, or is replaced by a suck line for another band, or is abruptly severed by a traumatic experience in which you are forced to admit that maybe your favorite band does suck sometimes.

Coined by punk columnist Mykel Board in Maximum Rock and Roll magazine. Mykel's own suck line was attached to The Velvet Underground for years, until it snapped when he attended a Lou Reed concert and saw the man dance on stage.
