Written or told by the little sister, nephew, or cousin, these tales are usually short or rambling and often accompanied by a crudely drawn picture that has nothing to do with the plot or characters. Easy fodder for movie script specs. Passes the time at holiday family dinners, with most older people carrying a look of extreme interest in the subject matter. In books and films, stories told by younger relations often have significant foreshadowing, inevitably causing the listener to change their viewpoint on a spouse.
