The second era in the evolution of the universe, and the era in which we currently exist. This era of the Universe is dominated by stars which fuse Hydrogen into Helium, and the dominant form of free energy is starlight. It began a few million years ABB (After the Big Bang), and will continue until about 10^15 years ABB.

The preceding era was the Primitive Era, and the succeeding era will be the Degenerate Era.
