This
beach in
Manchester By-the-Sea is named for the sounds
generated when people walk on the
fine grains of sand. About a half mile long, it is located at the end of
Beach Street, off
Route 127.
The only parking at the beach is resident permit parking on weekends; daytrippers and tourists must park in Manchester and walk the half mile down to the beach. The beach has changing facilities, as well as a small snack bar (which sells Richie's Classic Italian Ice).
The sand is very soft, and the water is pleasant, although there is a large amount of seaweed near the shore.
Access to the beach costs 1 USD.
