Redback Original is a wheat beer made by the Matilda Bay Brewery in Fremantle, Western Australia.

Redback looks very much like most Australian beers - golden straw coloured, with a creamy white head. It doesn't taste much like traditional european style wheat beers, having a less soapy/spicy flavour to it, bearing more citrus/vanilla flavours, and is the perfect beer for a hot day.

Usually served in a tall 330ml glass, with a slice of lemon, Redback is 4.8% ABV and is very popular in Western Australia, available on tap in most pubs down the west coast of Australia. Also comes in 330ml bottles, and is also available in a low alcohol version.

Also, if you ask for a pint of Redback, make sure they give you a pint. The 330ml Redback glasses look a lot bigger than they are, and are often served when you ask for a pint. If you're paying $7 (AUD of course) for a pint of something, you want to make sure you're getting a pint, not a measly little schooner.
