The Polyrhythm Addicts are a rap quartet and is one of the reasons I haven't given-up on the genre (damn you P. Diddy and DMX!) The group is made up of Shabaam Shadeeq, Mr. Complex, and Apani B. Fly Emcee, and the man behind the beats is DJ Spinna who has also spun for the likes of Busta Rhymes (everytime, oh yes I'm coming wicked with the new design) and De La Soul (please check them out if you haven't). Out of the three emcees, Apani B., a lady-rapper, stands out the most on this album (in a good way). I usually hate lady-rappers (see Lil Kim and Foxy Brown though Angie Martinez and Missy Elliot aren't bad, they aren't great either) and maybe my disbelief makes me like the album more.

The only album they have out is basically an EP tiltled Rhyme Related and features Pharoahe Monch on a song. Don't get me wrong, there are some stinkers on the album but the good more than outweighs the bad. If you are into mp3's download the song Motion 2000 for a good intro to the group.
