Phil's current band consists of:
John Molo on drums (former drummer for Bruce Hornsby)
Rob Barracco on keyboards (formerly of Zen Tricksters
Warren Haynes on guitar (Allman Brothers Band & Govt. Mule)
Jimmy Herring on guitar (Aquarium Rescue Unit)

They have been touring together during 2001 and Phil has made it clear he will keep this line up around for as long as he can.

Phil and Friends has existed officialy since a 1994 concert in Berkeley in which he was joined by the Dead to play an acoustic concert (their first since the 80's)... After the Dead died, Phil took a few years off... he began playing again in 1997, but didn't play outside of the bay area untill he recovered from a liver transplant in 1999.

His comeback shows from this near death experience were in April '99 at the Warfield in San Francisco with Trey Anastasio and Page McConell of Phish...
