He won a Golden Globe for his role as Jim Phelps on Mission: Impossible in 1971, and an Emmy for A&E's Biography in 1997. You may also remember him as Captain Oveur in Airplane!. His real name was Peter Aurness, he was the brother of actor James Arness. He died on March 14, 2010 at age 83.
