A musical based on the book Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. It opened over in England at the Albery Theatre on June 30, 1960. Three years later the musical opened at the Imperial Theatre in New York on January 6, 1963 and ran for 774 shows.

The story revolves around a young orphan boy who falls in with a group of young thieves. It turns out that Oliver is no orphan, as he is reunited with his grandfather near the end of the musical.

On December 8th, 1994, the show opened once again at the London Palladum. This time around, the show was reworked to align it with the film. It ran for 4 years in London before going on tour and eventually ending up on Broadway.
