Primary scout helicopter of the United States Army. Built by Bell Helicopters. Kiowa Warriors are easily distingushed by the large "ball" over the rotor, which serves as a targeting/sight device. The Kiowa is exceptional at flying low, exposing only this sight to examine enemy positions on the battlefield. More recent versions of the aircraft are armed with rockets and/or HELLFIRE missles, but the primary purpose of these aircraft is scout/recon work.
