Some thoughts from the public about Ezra Pound/Donald Trump:

Seminarian at Church Fundraiser: "People visited him in the hospital and felt sorry for him?? Didn't they know he was a war criminal? Who'd committed atrocities for Mussolini?"

"Well, he sounded like a nice guy..."

"That's what he wanted you to think...""

It was perhaps stochastic terrorism, but he does have a point.

Driver of a handicapped bus: "He was a patsy. Definitely set up. He was getting a nice beachfront villa in Rappello, and allowed to live there during the War. All he had to do was write a little, maybe do a few interviews. People have done more for less. The Fascists wanted him to take the fall. After all, he was an American. "

Well, he'd been more than a little anti-Semitic, but also an interesting viewpoint.

Strange that people can get so passionate about a case that's eighty years old.
