There seem to be several trends of within E2 nodes. Now, there are many who have been here eons longer than I, but I still would like to point out my observations:

The anecdote node: They usually come in three types, amusing, pithy, and dumb. They are oftentimes found with unique titles and wonderful stories. Many of my favorite noeds are of that type.

The rant node: Rant nodes are written by people who have to just get something off of their chest, in hopefully 1000 words or less. People just can't help themselves, even on their best day, but to go on at length about things.

The misspelled node: Hey, shti happens. =) People dont spell things correctly. (This happens to myself now and again). There are piles and piles of nodes left never to be found, because of poorly spelled titles.

The one-of-everything node: These are the nodes where people take everything under the sun and node it. One for everything under the sun. Like for instance, one of every Pokemon in the Pokedex. Now im not going to pass judgement on those types of nodes, but I don't know how favorable people look upon them. Webster 1913 was a project that did a lot of that, except with the dictionary.

The me node: Why not node yourself? Many people have non-home nodes about themselves. Some are funny, some are less funny, and some are just there.

The nodeshell node: In mathematics, the empty set is a member of every set. Thus, I include nodeshells as a type of node. No one makes these on purpose... at least no one with any sort of sense to them. See also: Nuke Fodder.

The nuke fodder node: These nodes are ones created to be killed. Creating a node with a title like "Nate can suck *" (Where * is some bodily part), will probably get nuked. When you want to flame an Editor, at the cost of your own XP, this is the way to go. (Note, this is not encouraged)

Inside joke node: These are nodes that are funny to very few people, or unless you have come from another node, which explains it. Sure they can be funny, but some should be left as inside jokes.

The Rescue the nodeshell node: Some people make it their task to rescue or save nodeshells. Some cannot be saved, while others turn into quite funny and well accepted nodes. Sometimes its good to save an orphan.

The dirt node: These are nodes where no one travels. Very few links, an uninteresting topic, etc. Avoid this as at all costs. The type of node that needs to be freshened up, or brought out back and shot.

The one liner node: The one-line piece of information, oftentimes found attached to nodes. Usually worthless, sometimes funny, but always (by classification) short.

The historical node: These oftentimes record some bit of trivia or history that the general public would not know. This goes along with the strategy of "Node for the Ages".

The node poetry: Poems writtem up as nodes. Some of them are really deep and give excellent thoughts, and others are... just one XP that someone got.

System nodes: See also E2 nuke request, etc. It's hard (impossible?) to make a system node, unless you're an editor.
