Steroids (or nasal corticosteroids) are a form
of medications which are used to treat diseases
such as allergic
rhinitis and sinusitis
. The steroid medication
contained in them is often the same that is found in asthma
metered dose inhalers (MDIs) or topical

A recent study suggests that they are more efficacious than antihistamines in treating allergic rhinitis.
Side effects include nasophayngeal irritation, sneezing, epistaxis, rash, headache, and nasal septal perforation.
