Mike Scott is an irish musician who plays some excellent rock. He is not really famous with kids these days, and I can recall every time I've ever heard about him:

First Experience: An old art teacher used to play a Mike Scott tape during our lessons when I was 12.

The next time I met someone who had heard of him was in a Tower Records. I was buying a Mike Scott single and the guy over the counter was irish and was telling me how Scott is a proper legend in Ireland.

The next time I saw or heard anything about him was a few years later, when I spotted a signed picture of him, on the second floor of the Shepard's Bush Empire, in Shepard's Bush, London.
