Recently a federal court upheld an earlier decision that found Bolton guilty of plagiarizing a 1966 Isley Brothers song titled "Love is a Wonderful Thing." Bolton's version, also called "Love is a Wonderful Thing" appeared on his extremely crappy 1991 Time, Love, & Tenderness album.

Ironically, Bolton has for years dismissed allegations that he made his "blue-eyed soul" fortune ripping off black artisits.

The court ruled that the $5.4 million damages penalty must be paid by Sony, Bolton and the song's "co-producer." Bolton, a former hair band geek, claimed that although he was raised on R&B music, he never heard the Isley song.
