A town in southeastern Ohio, at the confluence of the Ohio River and the Muskingum River. Marietta was the first permanent settlement in the Northwest Territory and was founded in 1788.

Marietta is a tourist haven, sporting numerous antique shops more than 13 museums (including the Campus Martius Museum and the Ohio River Museum), multiple historical sites. Also the site of the annual Sternwheel Festival.

Approx. population of 18,000 - 20,000. Current mayor is Joe Matthews.
