The other day I was listening to Adam's Song by Blink 182, and I noticed the phrase "I took my time, I hurried up, the choice was mine, I didn't think enough."

It suddenly struck me - that was a subtle reference to Nirvana's Come As You Are, specifically a reference to the phrase "Take your time, hurry up, the choice is yours, don't be late." It's weirdly subtle and seems really out of place in such a somber song.

The next day, my friend Beth mentioned that after I told her that, she noticed a reference in another track by Blink 182 - this time in The Rock Show. The Blink line is "She took my hand, we made it I swear.", referring to Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer, specifically to the line "Take my hand, we'll make it I swear." in the chorus.

This feels like an emerging pattern, and though I'm not much of a fan of theirs, I feel the urge to go through Blink lyrics song by song looking for more. I probably won't do that, but I'd appreciate it if anyone who knows more such random references worked into their songs would msg me with them, or write them up here.
