Love and Rockets was an avant garde
British rock band which formed in
December,
1985. It was formed by the former members of
Bauhaus,
David Jay (vocals,
bass,
keyboards),
Daniel Ash (vocals,
guitar, keyboards) and
Keven Haskins (
drums, keyboards). Their debut single was a Cover of the
Temptations' hit "Ball of Confusion", and their first album, Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven (1985) received mixed reviews.
The band never attained the amount of fame Bauhaus had enjoyed, but they continued to evolve and release albums every few years while working on solo projects in between. Their music spanned from ambient and techno to Beatles-like pop-rock. After briefly reuniting with Peter Murphy to tour as Bauhaus, the group disbanded in 1999 after tiring of playing together.
Their name is taken from an underground comic book of the same name.
