It is early Autumn, but it feels like July  in the Midwest

Hot and steamy well after dark,

summer hangs on,  a guest that came early and won't leave

tonight I saw the moon,  bright yellow

drifting in and out of clouds

it was not announced as Summer's last full moon, but it is

On the other side of the World

Australia is getting ready for Spring

On the other side of the ocean

London is crawling out of bed, getting ready for work

On the other side of the state,  near Des Moines

she is looking out her kitchen window, watching the same moon

touching the glass, knowing I am doing the same
