Lake Sevan is the largest
lake in
Armenia. Located at
about 120Km NE of the capital
Yerevan.
There are several monasteries around the lake including one on an island at the center. Some of these monasteries date back to the 9th and 12th century.
Currently the water level of the lake has dropped enough to make the island into a peninsula.
