AKA Control-L. A communications protocol for VCRs and camcorders. It transmits most commands found on remote controls, but it goes further by echoing back timecodes which facilitate video editing.
It is very similar to the RS-232 serial protocol, but uses 0v/5v levels instead, and is designed in a way that allows multiple devices to use the same cable (open collector).
