Kipple is, in fact, *useless* junk. The term was used extensively in the book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" by Philip K. Dick, which was later turned into the movie Blade Runner with Harrison Ford. Kipple consists of things like broken appliances, discarded wrappers, mysterious fragments of furniture. Kipple is in fact an analogue of entropy, except that it consists of physical things. Dick envisions kipple eventually taking over the entire post-apocalyptic earth; at least this is the opinion of J.R. Isidore, the chickenhead who is a character in the book.
