It's Bill Gates. With the purchase by Corbis of the Bettmann Archive, Sygma, Ansel Adams' catalog, and every other previously public domain source of historical, artistic and journalistic imagery his billions can buy, he intends to own History, and sell it to us, pay-per-view.
