The title character of Elf Sternberg's massive science fiction erotica epic, "The Journal Entries of Kennet R'yal Shardik et al. and Related Tales".

According to Sternberg, Ken Shardik was not named after Shardik the bear, but rather after "Kidarsh", Sternberg's wizard character in a long-ago Dungeons & Dragons game.
