Pioneering makeup artist (1889-1968). Real name: Jack Piccolo. Born in Greece, he moved to Hollywood and worked for low pay and no screen credit designing the monster makeup for the most famous of Universal Studios' horror movies, including "Dracula", "Frankenstein", "The Mummy", "The Wolf Man", "The Bride of Frankenstein", "Werewolf of London", and dozens of other movies.

No other makeup artist has been as influential as Jack Pierce. You think I'm bullshittin', right? What about Dick Smith? What about Rick Baker? What about Stan Winston? What about Screaming Mad George? Dude, I ain't kidding ya--they're all on the Jack Pierce Bandwagon. Jack is a big reason why all those old monster movies were so popular, and nobody gets to be a good makeup artist without studying the masters.
