I*u"lus (?), n. [L., down, Gr. down, centipede.] Zool.

A genus of chilognathous myriapods. The body is long and round, consisting of numerous smooth, equal segments, each of which bears two pairs of short legs. It includes the galleyworms. See Chilognatha.
