A euphemism for Internet Explorer, the browser "bundled" with recent Microsoft OSes.

This term is used because of the pervasiveness of security-compromising bugs in IE.

The name has also been developed out of a distinct distaste for the fact that IE is the only way to get updates for recent Microsoft OSes and the general unfairness of Microsoft practices.

Use Mozilla. If you find a problem, fix it, and sumbit a patch. End of Story.
