Composed of
white blood cells and
red blood cells as well as
platelets and numerous
clotting factors. It is blue when deoxygenated (in the vein) and red when it is full of
oxygen(in the artery).
Provides oxygen to the muscles and tissues, transporting it from lungs all the way to the toes. Blood also carries proteins, steroids and other essentials. Conversely, it takes away waste products, which are filtered out by the kidneys.
Can be augmented using erythropoetin or artificial blood.
