Honoré Balzac was born in
Tours,
France in
1799. In
1814, he moved to
Paris, eventually studying law, and working in a lawyer's office. Throughout the
1820s he tried to start up a career in
journalism and
printing, and he lost a lot of money.
In 1829, he published his first two novels, and went on to write many more stories. He changed his last name to "de Balzac", and he became quite popular in the good way. He wrote over 90 stories over these happy years, married in 1850, and died three months later.
