Hattie Hayridge was spotted on Saturday Night Live once, and described as a "female Norman Lovett" (who played Holly in Red Dwarf in series 1, 2, 7 and 8). She was given the part of Hilly - Holly's opposite - in the second series episode Parallel Universe... and when Norman Lovett left the show at the end of that same series, Hattie was given the role instead. It was explained away in the Star Wars-esque scrolling text on the episode Backwards:

"...Holly, the increasingly erratic Red Dwarf computer, performs a head sex change operation on himself. He bases his new face on Hilly, a female computer with whom he'd once fallen madly in love..."

Hattie lasted 3 series with the rest of the Red Dwarf crew, but sadly lost a lot of her importance in Series 5. With explanations of space phenomena being lost to Kryten, and one-liners (mostly insults towards Lister) being lost to the Cat, Holly, and Red Dwarf along with her, were superfluous. Norman Lovett replaced her at the end of series 7. Since Red Dwarf, Hattie has made guest appearances on TV shows such as Jonathan Creek and Rove Live.
