An award given to MLB players for outstanding defensive play. One is awarded for each position. This award has lost any semblence of reality in recent years. It is now given to the most popular players possible at each position. For instance, Rafael Palmero played 100+ games as the Texas Rangers' DH and 12 at first base. He was awarded the golden glove for first base.
