A variety of pasta.
Fusilli are about one inch long and have the shape of four ascending, entwined, parallel spirals (or more properly put, helices) . Because of this, fusilli "bind" with the sauce very closely and are therefore (loosely) indicated for pasta recipes where the sauce is somewhat fluid.
