You can see it in their eyes. It's a tiny little flicker of fear, shock, horror that they think is unnoticeable, but it's so huge. Makes me feel so small; as though I can't think for myself. And so strange, because it was completely the opposite only 20 years ago here. Those who were openly non-conformist were the ones getting the side-way glances.
