Located in Philadelphia, it is the largest city park in the nation, borders the Schuylkil River (damn, that's hard to spell!) on both sides, and is home to
- the Philadelphia Museum of Art,
- Belmont Plateu,
- Boathouse Row (exactly what it sounds like; a row of large houses owned by boating clubs and decorated in white lights like at Christmas),
- and too many deer.
I used to live a block from the park's furthest reaches into Center City. My mother always warned me about going in the park alone, as I'd get kidnapped.
It's mentioned in the Ween song "Spirit of 76" and featured in the film 12 Monkeys, particularly Memorial Hall, where the good doctor gets abducted by Bruce Willis.
