Dead Ringers

, 1988

A deeply disturbing drama by Canadian horror film director, David Cronenberg (Shivers, Videodrome, The Fly, M. Butterfly).

The film is loosely based on a true story, and stars Jeremy Irons as Bev & Elliot Mantle, twin gynecologists. "The Fabulous Mantle Boys" run a fertility clinic for the rich and famous.

But all is not well for the Mantles, for, although they are not literally Siamese twins, they might as well be. They share a practice, an apartment... even their women, often pretending to be the same person so they can both get in on the action. It becomes clear as the film goes on that the two of them cannot survive together, but they will surely die if they are separated.

It's a very sad film, but very worthwhile. I can tell you right now that you've never seen anything like it.
