Ok, this may sound REALLY stupid, but this actually works.
A lighter will remove a stubborn scratch. Be very carefull not to heat it up too much, but {running] the flame across the scratch, and then rubbing the area towards the outside of the disc does the trick. You have to be very carefull tho.
