These are the best brownies I have come across in my nearly 22 years on this earth.


  1. Combine caramels and 1/3 cup of milk in a double boiler. Cook until melted.
  2. Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup of milk and butter (or margarine). When dough holds together press half of mixture into 13x9" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle chocolate bits over crust. Pour caramel mixture over the top and crumble remaining cake dough on top of that.
  4. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Let it cool then cut.
