Mildly derogatory nickname for the United States Air Force used by members of the United States Army (and possibly other services). While the Air Force has many very cool, high speed occupations, it does seem that a higher percentage of the members of that branch of the Armed Forces of the United States are Chairborne Rangers- every combat activity requires hefty administrative and technical support, of course, but this is especially so with the high tech activities of the Air Force.
Note: Members of the other Armed Forces also tend to get jealous when visiting Air Force facilities. We understand why they need more money for planes and whatnot, but do they really need nicer barracks and nicer food, too?
Chairborne Ranger, Chairborne Ranger, Where have you been?
To the photocopier, and back again!
