The man who has been fighting ignorance for many years is now on the web, with full archives and all. I first found him in the Chicago Reader back in the early 1980s, and now I'm happy to be able to find him again in cyberspace. Can anyone reading this tell me what the name of the wonderful movie reviewer was back then for the Reader? One of my brain cells is taking a nap, and the other one cannot think of this guy's name.

UPDATE: It's Dave Kehr.

Cecil Adams is a pseudonym for a number of people who have written The Straight Dope. While it's altogether likely that there are multiple people in the world named Cecil Adams (and very smart people they are, I'm sure), none of them actually write that particular column.
