The Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is a specialty perfumer with a focus on mythology, the occult, and classical literature. The purveyors of the site ply their wares online and in specialty boutiques, catering complex, delicious-smelling oil perfumes with names like Cthulhu, Sacred Whore of Babylon, Green Phoenix, and other such goods to the Internet at large. The female populace of the Internet has rewarded this with the creation of a new fandom; imps ears, the tiny vials of samples, are traded between devotees along with care packages and the larger 5ml bottles.

Scents are documented in online reviews; these often find their way to the website forums, where they are categorized and documented under the name of the product line and scent name.

The Lab peddles specialty lines aside from the usual product themes of poetry, magic, and divinity. Notable lines of product include perfumes inspired by Neil Gaiman's works, a steampunk-themed set, alchemy, various carnival scents, and seasonal perfumes that vary throughout the year, such as Lunacy .

Bewitching Brews: Perfumes that don't quite fit into any of the other categories; also various actual brews. Contains scents like Absinthe, Magus, Scherezade, and Zephyr.

Ars Moriendi: This category contains scents along the theme of death. Contains, among others: Epitaph, The Reaper and the Flowers, Embalming Fluid, and Jazz Funeral.

Sin and Salvation: A set of the Seven Deadly Sins and other affronts to "common" decency. Aside from the aforementioned slights against mainstream morality, this category has both redeeming and debauched titles. Samples include Hymn, Vice, Les Infortunes De La Vertu, and Jailbait.

Diabolus: Demons, devils, and other evil creatures. Some of the perfumes available include: Akuma, Nosferatu, Phobos, and Villain.

Excolo: Divinity in various scented forms. Pele, Thanatos, Kali, and Eos.

Wanderlust: Locations all over the world. Athens, Eden, Tintagel, and Morocco.

Side projects involve t-shirts accompanying interesting themes, flasks, cigarette cases, bath soaps, linen sprays, and other fun little gothic toys to drop into the stocking of your friendly neighborhood spooky kid. These are sold through the Black Phoenix Trading Post; stock and designs vary wildly depending on time of the year, phase of the moon, and whim of the proprietors.
