Birds Custard Pots were small
plastic pots filled with Birds
instant custard mix, with some
fruit sauce included.
Improving on the basic add-water-get-snack
Pot Noodle idea, you added
hot water to your custard pot, put in the
sauce and had plenty of custard for a treat any time of day! There were two kinds of sauce available,
Forest Fruits and
Apple, but most people ignored the sauce and just enjoyed the
custard.
For about 50
pence this truly was a
great deal (you got a LOT of custard), with the bonus of making it
theoretically possible to live out of
plastic containers which you must add boiling water to. However,
Nestle axed the idea around the year 2000.
