Beringer Vineyards has a long history in California.
Founded in Napa Valley in 1876 by the Beringer brothers who emigrated from
Germany, it is today one of California's most successful large
wineries. It is also the anchor winery for Beringer Wine Estates,
which includes Chateau Souverain, Meridian, Chateau St. Jean,
and some of California's finest vineyard land. Along with wineries such
as Robert Mondavi, the last 10-15 years at Beringer offer ample
evidence that big wineries can produce absolutely first rate, world-class
wine.
