Basic King Strategy In Chess

At the start of the game it's best to move your
king
to the side of the
board
by
castling
.
If, for whatever reason, you are unable to
castle
try and move your king up one as to allow your rooks to control the back
rank
together. Otherwise the
mobility
of the rooks is greatly reduced.
If your opponent is constantly checking you with the same
knight
, move your king so that it is two diagonal squares away from the knight or two squares directly below or to the sides. This makes it impossible for that knight to
check
in its next move.
Never, unless you are 100% sure you are safe, move your queen in the path of your king.
In the
endgame
it is important to move your king offensively as it is can be a powerful offensive piece.
