The chord on which Pete Townsend based Tommy, and a great deal of his other music. Philosophically, it's interesting since in keeping with his adopted Hinduism, it's neither a major nor a minor chord, thus symbolizing the transcendence of the Godhead over the dualities of Good/Evil, Pain/Pleasure, etc. It's also in keeping with his rather odd hybrid style of playing, which is neither lead nor rhythm guitar, but both.

Aging Who fans can sometimes be roused to tears simply by hearing it played...loudly....since almost any rock song can be made "Who-ish" with this chord and others like it, similar to a pumpkin chord.
