Alpha Blondy is a reggae group that became very popular (at least in Africa) during the mid-1980s, and still produces great reggae albums to this day. Alpha Blondy writes and performs songs in English, French, Arabic and Hebrew, with the style and rhythm of Jamaican reggae. My favorite Alpha Blondy album is Jerusalem, with Masada a close second. Alpha Blondy recorded an album with the Wailers, too. The bandleader, Seydou Kone, is known as 'Blondy' and was born in 1953 on the Ivory Coast.
